Dr. Steven L. Shafer is the Editor in Chief of the ASA Monitor, which discussed “Weaponized Reporting” in the September 2022 issue. Dr. Shafer graduated from Princeton University, received his MD from Stanford, and trained in Anesthesiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He returned to Stanford for a fellowship in clinical pharmacology, and remained at Stanford for the next 35 years. He is the former Editor-in-Chief of Anesthesia & Analgesia. His research interests include anesthetic pharmacology and mathematical models.
