 President's Greeting

From the President -

Greetings and welcome to the ISA Website.  Inside you will see newsworthy items from within our society, legislative initiatives on both the State and Federal level, and links to important educational opportunities.
With all the change occurring in Washington, the impact on our State issues is significant.  We will therefore be focusing our efforts on Federal as well as State activism so the voices of our Society and our patients are heard.
Please click on the links that say “ALERT” to take action on important items that affect our specialty, and use the handy
CapWiz tool to contact legislators.  Remember, it is all about patient safety.
If your interest is piqued and you want to know how to help, please contact any of the officers, Delegates, or Alternate Delegates, or any of the ISA office staff.  If you truly want to participate in the process, consider becoming an ISA Liason to your practice.  You can be the key person in your area to magnify the efforts of the ISA in protecting patient safety in anesthesiology.  Click on the “Contact Us” icon and get involved!

ASA Launches Lifeline Campaign Web Site -

ASA has launched a campaign to increase public awareness of the central role anesthesiologists play in modern medicine. Called the Lifeline Campain, it stresses that highly trained physician anesthesiologists provide a lifeline to modern medicine because they are involved at the most important points of a person's life: at childbirth, during surgery, in critcal care, chronic pain and palliative care. Anesthesiologists work throughout the hospital taking care of all kinds of patients. Without important developments in the safety of anesthesia care and in the techncal capabilities of anesthesiologists, many of the modern miracles of medicine would not be possilbe.
